FOREIGN FOOD SHOPS
  • SPANISH
    Hermanos Garcia (Portobello Road)
Here you can buy all those amazing delicacies you enjoyed so much whilst on your Spanish holiday. The food is not too expensive and the perfect cure when you are feeling homesick or practicing recipes from your Spanish cook book. The staff are very friendly which explains why this shop has lasted for so many years on Portobello Road.

Tendido Cero (174 Old Brompton Road)
A Spanish delicatessen, shop and tapas bar, you can BYO (bring your own beer) which adds value to this great little find on Brompton Road. The place now operates a two-sitting policy so it is wise to book in advance.

For Spanish treats online try The Tapas Lunch company
  • ITALIAN
  • Carluccio's (named after its founder Antonio Carluccio) is one of the most well known Italian shop-restaurants in London. Most communities, however, seem to have great smaller delicatessen shops, owned and run by Italian families where you can get your parma, mortadella or nutella. For online shopping with home delivery try NifeIsLife
  • FRENCH
FranceToYourDoor will deliver all kinds of French products from food and wine to candles and cosmetics. Aside from this there are plenty of patisseries around such as Paul Maison de Qualite which has 22 branches across the city or Patisserie Valerie. Le Gourmet Français, at 161a Uxbridge Road in Rickmansworth, although outside of central London is great for those to hard to source ingredients. L'Eau à la bouche specialises in French as well as British fine food and with it’s location in East London is handier for most. With its impressive displays of cheese and meats, Grande Bouche is a great place to head to at 31 Bute Street, in the heart of South Kensington.
  • CHINESE - ORIENTAL
For every ingredient possible to cook a wonderful oriental dish, head to Chinatown in Leicester Square where you will find shops offering fresh fish, fruit, vegetables and dried goods.
  • JAPANESE
    Arigato (Brewer Street)
This can be a little overpriced in comparison to the shop two doors down the street, but it also sells cooked food and some times has good bargains.

    Rice Wine Shop
    (Brewer Street)
This tiny shop is packed with every product imaginable and with the best price tags in town. Knowing your Japanese products is essential here when faced with so many foreign products clad in Japanese strewn packages.

    Japan Centre (Piccadilly Street)
The highlight here is its great value sushi.

    West Acton Japanese Food Shop
If what you need is fresh fish for your sushi, this is the place – pre-prepared and ready for you to take home and impress your guests with.

For Japanese restaurants and shops in the UK check here...
  • EASTERN EUROPEAN
    Kalinka Russian (Queensway high St)
This shop has a full range which caters well for the Russian market.

  • POLISH
For Polish produce head towards Hammersmith. For shops and delicatessens in London try Polish Firms
  • ARABIC
The main hub of Arabic life is on and around Edgware Road where you will find many food and drink shops (Al Sultan Super Market, Babylon Supermarket, Shazia, and Bestways). For detailed listings check out All in London. If you live in North London, Finsbury Park also has many shops to offer.
  • LATINOAMERICAN

Many goods can be bought online. If, however, you prefer seeing the goods try Casa Brasil (Queensway Market - Shop E3), or one of the 3 branches of Delicias de Portugal (Kensal Green - 1008 Harrow Road, Vauxhall - 280 Wandsworth Road & Victoria - 43 Warwick Way).

    Peruvian
On the top level of the Elephant & Castle's shopping centre, at the end of the row of shops you will find a great Peruvian store.

    Ecuadorian
    Rincon Ecuadorian -
    235 Holloway Road, London N7 8HG

  • AMERICAN
The Rosslyn Delicatessen - 56 Rosslyn Hill Hampstead. Alternatively try one of the two Patridges shops in Sloan Square and Gloucester Road, or online at SkyCo
