London + summer = lots of festivals! Yes, the sun is starting to shine and we all want to enjoy the multiple parks and outdoor spaces this city has got. Every weekend from the beginning of June till the beginning of September you can enjoy one free event at a public park.
FREE FESTIVALS JUNE The season of festivals starts with the Concert Against Racism in Victoria Park, shortly followed by the STOKFEST (Stoke Newington free independent Arts Festival), in Clissold Park on Sunday 8th June. As the weather starts warming up, head there for a nice day out (families very welcomed). It's been running for 11 years now and it has music tents, main stage, world food, cultural events along the park, acts, craft fair and more. This year it expects between 20,000 and 30,000 visitors.

Right next to the Tower Bridge there is a public open space where there are regular free events happening. The Scoop. Just further down the river, The Coin Street organisation, which produces events right next door by the river and around the Oxo tower. Just check their site regularly for updates or join their newsletter.
For those with environmental concerns, the West London Greenfest, Sunday 15th June, organised by the H&F cyclists association, will present around 50 environmental. Your chance to learnm and get involved. And bring your kids as there will be activities also for them.
Now, if you are a theatre lover or you can never make up your mind about which show to go to in the West End, then head to Leicester Sq on the weekend of the 21st-22nd of June as they will be showcasing most plays.
TheCarnival of Cuba will bring colourful rythm to the streets of London! Head to Southwark Park on 28th-29th June for some dancing, food and fun.
Also throughout June is the Greenwich and Docklands International Festival. Find out about all the dates and events taking place including the giantic Chinese painting, pretty cool stuff!

JULY Rise: London United Against Racism, on the 13th of July has usually got a good international line-up.
Another good weekend will be The Lambeth Country Show 2008, which despite its name, it has nothing to do with cowboys singing love songs. Massive family orientated event but also for young crowds, it will have arts, crafts, food and great music, as well as exotic animals.

AUGUST The Carnaval del Pueblo on August 3rd promises a great parade and dance from various Latino countries. Warm, cheerful and colourful, is a no-miss event! The perfect warm-up for the now internationally acclaimed Notting Hill Carnival on the last weekend of August, first established in 1965, we recommend going in early not to miss the parade. Plenty of Caribbean jerky chicken and big. Easy to lose your friends through the streets so make sure your mobile has got plenty of battery too!!

SEPTEMBER And to finish the summer with a good flavour, The Mayor's Thames Festival 2008, which last year attracted 775,000 espectators!
NON-FREE FESTIVALS
This section will be updated shortly, in the meantime, you can buy some tickets here
