HOUSE UTILITIES

Gas & Electricity

In most places that you rent, your utilities will be already contracted but, if you want to check for better deals, use this website or this other one to compare all the companies available for your postcode

Water
Thames Water is in charge of providing the water to the city of London. Find out all you want to know in their website.

Telephone line
BT is the main provider of telephone lines in the UK, though you can then strike extra deals on top of it to have free calls anytime, anywhere within the country.

Internet
Even though many internet companies offer you great deals for internet, make sure you check what is the actual capacity within your postcode area! Most internet deals lock you down for a year and it is hard to break off those contracts, so make sure you are going to stay in the same place for that period or if you can take your contract with you to your new place.

Websites like this one will compare all the prices for you or this one to find what best suits you

It pays to look around before you take a deal with a service provider. There is a lot of competition in the market. Ring around a number of suppliers and see who is best for your area.
