There is accommodation for all tastes, in all areas and for all budgets.. though it can be quite overpriced, sometimes you can find some good deals when hotels have special offers (especially if they are new and they want to promote themselves).

There are obviously many hotels all around town, we are in London afterall. There are a few areas where groups of hotels are conveniently clustered together.

1/ For cheap, touristy and good commuting (to airports or downtown for sightseeing and shopping) head towards Bayswater, Lancaster Gate or Marble Arch. This areas, all west of the city are full of hostels for students or people on a budget who don’t mind sharing room and/or bathroom, cheap B&Bs, 2, 3 star hotels and a few decent ones (mostly Hiltons). And also near all the stations (Victoria, Kings Cross St Pancras, Paddington and Liverpool St)

2/ To be right in the middle of it all, head towards Soho, Embankment or Victoria. They may be bit more expensive but you are a walk into most entertainment and offices in town.

3/ If you are looking for something special, there are a few hidden places in South Kensington, Holland Park, or the most upmarket hotels in Knightsbridge or in the back streets of Piccadilly, facing the river.
